Most of my family’s weddings were held here
Proms and Christmas parade gatherings too every year
After the parade there was a wonderful children’s event
Snacks, movies and goodies oh the money that was spent
The food there was really really good and that did matter
A family friend employee was sworn to secrecy on the chicken recipe batter
I loved going there to have a family meal
If you didn’t feel like cooking to go there was ideal
It was where we first met my lovely Aunt Beverly
I always tell her she took over for our dear Nanny Delaney
It’s now just an empty lot as you drive by
But I can still see it there all lit up in my mind’s eye
