Tales From Away-You Know I’m A Daydreamer~

Tales From Away-You Know I’m A Daydreamer~

I always was and ever will be a Daydreamer~

When I was elementary school I was a daydreamer-maybe to get away from unpleasant thoughts or situations.

When I was a teenager I remember riding on a bus daydreaming-always day dreaming about what my life would be like when I was older with a job and with more confidence.

I believe this poem I wrote says it all~

Daydreams

I've been known to daydream from time to time
Drift off with a long away look, so entwined

They're a good way to break up a boring day
If you can't capture my attention, I'm on my way

I daydream a lot about Newfoundland and growing up there
About spending time with my friends without a care

I even daydream about the future as well
I envision everything but I dare not dwell

If I daydream it, it will happen I assure
Usually completing all my tasks plus even more

I used to be teased for my daydreaming as a kid
Had to give my full concentration, and it, I hid

I welcome daydreaming now instead
Daydreams are a wonderful way to plan ahead~

"You know I'm a dreamer-Home sweet home" Mötley Crüe

So please don't discourage a child when they daydream, for they are planning their futures and how their lives might be better for them one day. Sometimes it can help them get through a tough day or really bad situations.

In researching 'Why do we daydream?' I found this information on the 'ABC Health & Wellbeing' site.

'Why do we daydream?'

"Just about every thought that people have is related directly or indirectly to one of their goals," says Professor Eric Klinger from the University of Minnesota, who has been researching daydreaming and mind wandering since the 1970s.

This process can help prepare us for that future, whether it be in a few minutes time, or further down the track. "It's a rehearsal mechanism," says Klinger. "It's spontaneous, it's not a deliberate rehearsal, but it plays a role of priming us."

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

Take care (& don't quit your day dream) and all the best~Celeste

www.talesfromaway.com Submitted By: Alicia "Celeste" Loughrey
