Tales From Away-Kisses And Hugs~

Tales From Away-Kisses And Hugs~

A kiss is just a kiss. I beg to differ!

How often do we say these words or more so, even write them. I add them to almost every card, letter or email-depending on whom they are addressed to.

The featured image in this blog is one of my favorite little coffee table books-one that you can just pick up at random and reread the cute little quotes in. This collection of kiss quotes can put a smile on one's face for sure.

Here are a few of my favorite excerpts from the book:

The mother's first kiss teaches the child love. Giuseppe Mazzini

Always kiss, hug, and cuddle your children so that they will be demonstrative with their own families and friends.

You can't kiss a girl unexpectedlyonly sooner than she thought you would. Jack Seaman

Kiss me and take my soul in keeping. Since I must go now, day is near. Anonymous

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for thy love is better than wine. The Song of Solomon (Had to throw one with wine in there)

A kiss is something that you cannot give without taking and cannot take without giving. Anonymous

For a kiss is an immortal thing. And the throb wherein those old lips met, is a living music in us yet. Robert Burns

What of the soul was left, I wonder, when the kissing had to stop? Robert Browning

Some beautiful quotes to account for one of life's great expressions of love.

By writing this blog and doing a little research I learned a new word (well as far as the Urban Dictionary goes) Basorexia-a strong craving or hunger for kissing. LOVE learning something new every day!

Wikipedia also says this about the art of kissing: A kiss is the touch or pressing of one's lips against another person or an object. Cultural connotations of kissing vary widely. Depending on the culture and context, a kiss can express sentiments of love, passion, romance, affection, respect, greeting, friendship, peace and good luck, among many others. In some situations a kiss is a ritual, formal or symbolic gesture indicating devotion, respect, or sacrament. The word came from Old English cyssan (to kiss), in turn from coss (a kiss).

A kiss is NEVER just a kiss as in the words of the song As time goes by!

Take care (& kiss your loved ones often) and all the best~Celeste

www.talesfromaway.com Submitted By: Alicia "Celeste" Loughrey
