Posies
Just to see or hear this word makes my mouth water
They're called Toutons up the shore and parts of Newfoundland other
Posies are made using leftover bread dough and deep fried in a pan
Oil or butter can be used to fry them or whatever you have on hand
I like mine with pancake syrup or molasses
Others use ketchup or sugar and milk by the glasses
We'd always look forward to Mom making homemade bread once a week
Because it would be Posies for supper that night and oh what a treat
To have a feed of Posies is some "shockin' good"
If I could still have them once a week I surely would~
