Dear Downhomer,<br /> I'm just writing you this letter to talk to you about my husband,Donald. If anyone should be called Captain Newfoundland, it is him. He thinks all that comes from home is good and no one else can outdo a newfoundlander! No matter where he is or what he is doing, if he hears about anyone doing something well or making something creative or ingenious, then a Nflder had to have something to do with it! Also, if some good deed is done then it must have been someone from home who has done it. And if there is trouble-no worries if there is A Nflder around.<br /> Every commercial or program about Nfld brings A tear to his eye.Every story or tale that he tells are of fellow newfoundlanders who have done something great or accomplished something great. My home has Newfoundland memorabilia everwhere and the flag hangs over our bed. It has even rubbed off on our son, Joshua, who actually dressed as Capt. Nfld for haloween!<br /> We have been away for almost thirty years but you would never tell. He sounds like he has just come off the &quot;Rock.&quot; His love for Nfld and all that comes from it shines bright everyday and never diminishes, as time goes by. According to him, the air is better in Nfld., the food is the best and the people can't be topped. The fish doesn't taste the same,nor does the moose when your not there!
