Winter Duds in 29
Winter Duds in 29

While rummaging in old family photo albums I recently came across this old photo of my father, Cyril Cornick of St. Johns, taken in the winter in 1929. I find it interesting because of the type of winter clothing he is wearing; probably typical for the day. Notice the salt and pepper hat, the gloves with wide cuffs, the breeches (we called them breeks in my day), and the unique knee high footwear. The photo is taken on a bridge, location unknown. Anybody familiar with these duds?

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia Submitted By: John Cornick
