Why Tears Flow
It seems these days the flood of tear
So easily it does appear
And when I read of the plight of another
It saddens me thus to see my dear brother
It never seemed to be this way
When younger it just never happened they say
But now at eighty years of age
Tears just seem to flow, my spirit to assuage
These deep emotions that run so free
Seem these days to have overtaken me
What psychological changes have been wrought
By the aging process I seem to be caught
It seems my world is more intense
And I see things in a purer sense
That the beauty around and also the pain
Touch my emotions it's clearly plain
Can I ever make sense of it all
Will this be made clear in the long haul
Or will it remain to the bitter end
A mystery I can't comprehend
In any event I feel so blessed
To have my spirit completely at rest
And be able to move from day to day
In such a becalmed sort of way
