Last summer I sent a picture to Downhome asking about a weird fish my grandson caught. Yesterday my husband and I were fishing, using deepwater fishing poles, when my husband's line hooked into something. First thought was that he had caught "the big one." Trying to reel the line in, it felt like maybe his line was caught on the bottom. Using all his strength he managed to free it. So he decided to pull it up to check the bait. When it came out of the water something was attached. We had no clue what it was. Look at this picture and see if you can provide any guesses. We only took this one picture. It looked like some type of big eye. The flesh was kind of rough, like a piece of pork rind. The other side looked like it was ripped off of whatever it was attached to.
