Swiss Air 111 <br /> <br /> That fateful night there was much fright<br /> Amid passengers on Swiss Air One Eleven<br /> Two hundred twenty nine souls were on the rolls<br /> Never heard of again, a terrible toll<br /> <br /> <br /> Off Peggy's Cove the flight it circled<br /> Then ploughed into the ocean deep<br /> No survivors ever were there found<br /> In spite of the search both near and around<br /> <br /> <br /> The debris field stretched for many a mile<br /> And searchers came there by the score<br /> To ever be touched by the horrid scene<br /> In each and every first responder team<br /> <br /> <br /> And families came from far and near<br /> To visit the sight and shed their tears<br /> The grief was palatable that's for sure<br /> To hang over the site for ever more<br /> <br /> <br /> All souls commended to the Almighty<br /> The prayers went out from near and far<br /> From every little nook and cranny<br /> From young and old, from gramps and grannies<br /> <br /> <br /> A monument stands with all names inscribed<br /> As a testament to the tragic event <br /> The inscription "joined from sea to sky"<br /> Brings a tear to every eye<br /> <br /> <br /> The site is calm and quiet now<br /> All souls there rest in peace serene<br /> But we shall never be content<br /> To forget that very tragic event<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia<br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
