Stan, the man, Rogers
Stan,the man,Rogers
A poet and troubadour of great renown
His life cut short at age thirty three
This gentle giant of lyrical fame
From airplane fire in Cincinnati
A pure resounding voice so fine
It held our sway with much renown
When on the road with his group
Great turnouts assured in every town
But most of all he was a poet
His words were crafted in a special way
To leave no doubt in anyone’s mind
That he would for sure hold our sway
His songs conjure up images clear
Which tug at our heart strings and always will
Make and Break Harbour, and Rawdon Hills
Favourites of mine that always thrill
Though gone now for some thirty years
Great talent lost to the music world
His songs still played and enjoyed by many
Oblivious though fame around him swirled
So Stan we thank you for your talent
And wish you well in that other life
We will for sure never forget
All your fine work with poetry rife
