Snowflakes
They fall so gently on my sleeve
Which seemingly is their last reprieve
Nature's spectacle, its minutiae
Which glides at night and during the day.
At their hearts, organic stone
Onto which arms are prone
Gracefully flowing through the air
As breathtakingly I stare.
My patio light reveals great numbers
Which inspires a serene slumber
On such peaceful and calm nights
They surely reflect my inner lights.
What could be more inspiring than these?
Over which I transport my firewood with ease
On my snowmobile I'm eager to go
And make solid tracks in this awesome snow.
Snowflakes are a child's delight
As they cavort in this sea of white
Excitement of a child's sense of wonder
Can help us put our qualms asunder.
A million of these could fit in my hand
Uncountable numbers to cover the land
They constitute great contemplation
They lift my mood at every station.
The stars of nature's minutiae
I can contemplate them night and day
An inscrutable element of nature's mystery
I wonder how many have fallen in history.
To ignore the snowflake would be absurd
So much so I couldn't find words
A great revelation, yet I hardly know
A fraction of the knowledge of the mystery of snow.
