Skinny Dipping in Caveys Canyon
Skinny Dipping in Caveys Canyon

When I was a lad summering in Manuels, CB, in the mid 1940s, my pals and I frequently swam at a remote swimming hole named Caveys Canyon on the Manuels River. At that time it was hard to access, and thus quite private. We often skinny dipped there as a group of boys. There were lots of eels in the deep hole, and often they would slither over our bare backs, giving a very creepy feeling. Of course, when the odd group of girls showed up unannounced, we would clamour out of the pool, frantically reaching for our clothes to cover up. Those were fun times.

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia Submitted By: John Cornick
