Simple Vices
Simple Vices
What pious people label vice
I recon is mostly treasure
And that those things are put on earth
To give us mainly pleasure
And if they are taken in moderation
Can do us no harm in the end
If we but limit our use of them
And this message to others send
What I refer to is of course
Those age old vices of renown
That we encounter from day to day
In this grand old man's town
To let yourself get fully engaged
To the exclusion of other pleasures
Will in the end cause no end of grief
From which there may be no swift relief
