Royal Newfoundland Regiment, No. 11 Section, C Company
I'm writing a book based on my grandfather's memoirs: When the Great Red Dawn is Shining: Howard L. Morry's Memoirs of Life in the Newfoundland Regiment. It is due to be published by Breakwater this month (October). In the final editing phase, as I was adding illustrations, it suddenly dawned on me that these two photos taken 39 years apart were of the same platoon in the RNR and therefore the men should be the same. I know the names of the men in the later photo, but with the exception of my grandfather (marked with an x) I cannot put a name to those in the earlier photo. Perhaps some of your readers can. In the second photo, the names are as follows: Back row: Sgt. Charlie Watson, Howard Morry, Bill Buckley, Wilson Loveys, Ned Mansfield. Front row: Sgt. Joe McKinley, Jack Sullivan, Harold Andrews, Chick Duder, Jimmy Lang. Submitted By: Chris Morry
