Opinions <br /> <br /> <br /> When is it right to express an opinion<br /> When conversing with others on Facebook<br /> Sometime yes and sometime no<br /> But before you leap please do look<br /> <br /> Interpersonal feelings should be sacred ground<br /> At least from experience that&acirc;€™s what I've found<br /> A poet friend is of similar mind<br /> So on that we are on common ground<br /> <br /> Other times may be better to speak your piece<br /> Although it may a controversy generate<br /> Especially when a lesson to be learned<br /> Is helpful in setting the record straight<br /> <br /> I am reminded of a recent death<br /> Of a beloved folk singer of local fame<br /> A man we all loved for his beautiful songs <br /> And when he passed on the accolades came<br /> <br /> But beneath it all was a sorrowful life<br /> A drug habit he never was able to shake<br /> Which was really what took him in the end<br /> And way too early, such a tragic mistake<br /> <br /> Although this info may have lessened his lustre<br /> Its release in my mind was a brave thing to do<br /> For that person who loved him so dearly<br /> Really wanted a lesson to be learned through and through<br /> <br /> So I think we should consider carefully<br /> How we respond and our voices lend <br /> And if negatively we should be prepared <br /> To defend our position right to the end<br /> <br /> Now these are heady thoughts for sure<br /> And make for soul searching there is no doubt<br /> But the fact still remains and makes easy the claims<br /> That the reasons are sometimes profound my old trout<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
