Newfoundlander and Mainlander apply for the same job
Both a young Newfoundlander and a Mainlander applied for an Marine Cook position with the same company, which was based in Newfoundland. Both men had the same qualifications, was given the same application and had to fill out the application by the department manager. Once both finished, the department manager checked the applications, noticing both left out the same question. The department manager went to the Newfoundlander and said “Thank you for your interest in the job position, but I had to give the position to the mainlander.” Puzzled, the Newfoundland looks at him, asking “Why? We both had nine questions right. Dis being Newfoundland, and I being a Newfoundlander, dat means I should get de job!" The manager responds, “We didn’t make our decision on the correct answers, but instead on the questions you both missed…" “How could one incorrect answer be better then the other?” The Newfoundlander replies, “Simple, on question #5, the mainlander wrote “I don’t know”, and you wrote down “Needer do I."
