Mourning Pin
Mourning Pin

The photo of this "mourning pin" was taken from my Smith family genealogical records. Oral history says the design of this pin is made from the hair of those children of my G Grandparents ( William George Spear Smith and Elizabeth Ann Keeping of Brigus) , who died young. Apparently such pins were common back in the early 1900s.

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia Submitted By: John Cornick
