Missed The Most <br /> <br /> What do I miss the most<br /> About my homeland over the sea<br /> Those things they are so many<br /> And I list them here with glee<br /> <br /> I miss the lovely coastline<br /> With tumbling waves and mist<br /> I miss the fish flakes and the rooms<br /> With summer odours kissed <br /> <br /> <br /> I miss the streets of old St Johns<br /> The visits to Brigus ancestral shore<br /> To blend again among my folks<br /> Would be an experience I would adore<br /> <br /> <br /> I miss vacations in Conception Bay<br /> At Manuels, Kelligrews, and Upper Gullies by time<br /> I miss my visits to Petty Harbour <br /> Ancestral port of our old Chafe line<br /> <br /> <br /> I miss those tours of outports fine <br /> And the friendly folks that I met there<br /> Twillingate, Port aux Choix, Lance aux Meadows and St. Anthony<br /> Will always stay with me while I'm on the tear<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I miss the purple hughed mountains<br /> Fishing the lovely gullies and ponds <br /> I miss the feeds of fish and brewis<br /> I miss the grandeur of Western Brook Pond<br /> <br /> I miss the yarnin with those kind folks<br /> And my kinfolk by the score<br /> But I will be back to visit<br /> Of that you can be sure<br /> <br /> But what do I miss most, my darling<br /> About my homeland over the sea<br /> The things I have listed they are many<br /> But I really mostly miss thee<br /> <br /> Your beauty of form and beauty of grace<br /> Both combine to give you a charm<br /> Not to be surpassed in this mans world<br /> And that's not to be taken as smarm<br /> <br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia<br /> <br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
