Of that Atlantic sea

All these years you've stood by me
Far from kinfolk on a distant shore

Yearned to be home in Newfoundland once more

We eked out our lives on a foreign soil
And built our future on this distant strand
And raised our family in joy serene
In our home in a faraway land

But now in death I must honour my pledge
To return you to your heartfelt home
From where you may now rest in peace
And never more have to roam

But forgive me love as I had to return
Back to this place far away from your grave
To be with our family living here
Though my soul remains with you where lilies wave

And our spirits will rest side by side
In love and eternal embrace
And I can take comfort knowing full well
The joys of your amazing grace.
