Humility

Humility, an enviable trait
So often these days hard to find
We seem assured that we possess it
But sure it’s purely a state of mind

It seems that life’s successes now
Leave little room for such a trait
And it could even be so labelled
A weakness of the lowest state

For lack of such a valuable asset
Will surely lead to chances missed
And even end in messed up lives
For those inclined to so insist
