Homeland Farewell

The day is falling fast my love
The night be shortly here
Tomorrow I will part this place
So beautiful and fair

My heart will stay though I move on
Thus I’ll be less a man
For I must take my leave forthwith
To further as I can

My future in this large great land
So vast and so unknown
But I will ever hold so dear
The land I deem my home

For Life is but a memory bank
All totalled up with time
And when the end comes surely by
There is no destination fine

But sure as life flows swiftly on
The legacy remains
As all there is to mark your path
And give you personal fame
