On March 12th, 2009
Aboard the Cougar flight 491
Never suspecting for a moment
This would be their last run.

Eighteen people left that day
On their way to Hibernia and the Sea Rose
Something terrible happened
Why? Only God knows

The sea took them home that day
All but one have died
This tragedy affected so many
Hundreds said their goodbyes

There was Matthew, Peter, Colin, and Keith
All came from old St. John's
Wade and Burch were from Fortune
May their memories always live on

There was Corey who lived in Paradise
Thomas and Tim were from BC
Gregory came from Outer Cove
In our hearts, they will forever be

There was John from Deer Lake
And Gary from Conception Bay
Ken came from Nova Scotia
We will miss them every day

There was Derrick who lived in Bay Bulls
And Paul who came from Shearstown
Wade was from Witless Bay
Their spirits will always be around

Allison came from Aquaforte
And Robert, the only one to survive
You see, miracles really do happen
Because it is a miracle he’s still alive

Have angels there to greet them Lord
To show them all the way
Wrap them in your heavenly love
Till the families are together again one day.
