We woke up this morning to the glorious sound of Dad clanking breakfast dishes and Mom humming like she’s in a musical. A perfect start, really. Because it means food is coming and also more food is coming.

I, Issy, stretched dramatically— the kind of stretch that says, “Yes, I am majestic. Please admire me.” Meanwhile Daisy rolled off the couch like a potato with legs and trotted over for her morning ear rub.

The house was warm, the floors were cozy, and the hot water was running— which we appreciate even though we pretend baths are a crime against dog‑kind.

We looked around and thought, Wow… we’ve got it good. A loving family, a roof that keeps the rain off our fur, and neighbours who give us treats even when Dad says, “Don’t encourage them.”

Outside, the world was peaceful. No explosions, no chaos— just birds to bark at and squirrels to file complaints about.

At dinner, we sat under the table like the loyal vacuum cleaners we are, grateful for every crumb that gravity sends our way.

And every night, when we curl up knowing we’re safe, warm, and loved beyond measure, we think:

This is the good life. This is the lucky life. This is the tail‑wagging, heart‑full kind of life.
