Gift of Gab
Gift of Gab
I wish I had the gift of gab
And could converse at will
It seems to me the greatest gift
To have that wonderful skill
For those so blessed can be at home
In any group or crowd
But I seem not to be so blessed
Or so luckily endowed
No matter what the subject is
Some seem to be at rest
And are their best when subjects range
And put them to the test
I am more comfortable when immersed
In my own thoughts o're times
And putting pen to paper
To come up with some rhymes
They whirl around within my head
Til I have put some order
To the jumble they present
And give them no free quarter
So whether gift of gab or rhyming
Is your forte in the end
They both serve useful purposes
Which isn't hard to comprehend
