My ol' friend Freddie raised some chickens
for dinner he would eat.
He also had some pigs and ducks,
there was never a shortage of meat.

But this story's about a broody hen,
that laid one funny egg,
When the odd-shaped egg finally hatched,
a rusty coloured chick popped right out,
sporting three perfect legs!

The chick it grew into a chicken
and then came the time for it to pluck,
But there wasn't any chance of catching that bird,
because it was faster than Freddie's truck.

it will leave you blinded, in a streak of dust.

We'd sit and watch this crazy bird
it would drag race with anything
it could race you all the way to town
and all the way back again.

People come from miles around
to see my buddy's fast chicken,
they all look and stare at those legs all day,
but their fingers, they won't be a lick'n!

Many have tried and all have failed
it's easy to understand
but I bet you I could catch me that bird..,,,
If I were a three-legged man.
