First Meeting
First Meeting
The hour we first met my Love
Stays with me in my nightly dreams
And time was whispering between us both
Oh how I love you my betroth
But the flame between us seemed to die
And fade away into the sky
Your salty tears haunt me to this day
A distraught feeling I can't allay
Your countenance in my mind seared
Forever there so it appeared
My every waking hour I find
You are here with me in my mind
Your form so clear it arouses me here
And causes me to shed a tear
That we no longer are as one
As I so wished we would become
In spite of all that may prevail
I can arouse you to no avail
So I'm afraid that part of me
Is now ancient history
But some part of you is tucked away
To remain with me for ever and a day
In that part of my life's history
That will remain forever a mystery
