Can’t outsmart a Newfoundlander
One day, a Newfoundlander was walking along the wharf, carrying a lobster under each arm. All of a sudden, along comes a fisheries warden. He stops and looks at him, saying “Excuse me, but do you know you can get into serious trouble fishing lobsters out of season?" “Eh b’y, but I am not here to fish these here lobsters, they are my pets!" says the Newfie. "You see ev’ry day I comes down be de water, whistles, and me two pet lobsters jump in me arms, I talk them for a walk on the wharf, then I throw them them back into de bay again.” The Fishery warden says, “I find this very hard to believe, sir. Prove this to me” So the newfie walks to the edge of the wharf, throws the two lobsters into the bay. Eagerly waiting for the proof, he tells the Newfie, “Whistle to the lobsters. They better appear or else you have to face a judge." The newfie, turns back around to the fishery warden, and says “What lobsters?" and laughs. Submitted By: Vicki Howell
