Bluenose II Cruise, Aug 1969
Bluenose II Cruise, Aug 1969

This is a photo of my late father, Cyril Cornick, of St.John's, NL enjoying a cruise aboard the famed Bluenose II off the Nova Scotia coast in August 1969 while he and my mother were visiting us here in Halifax. While Dad spent his entire working career with Bowrings Brothers Ltd Shipping Dept in St. John's, I believe this was his first experience sailing aboard a fishing schooner, and he really enjoyed it. That fine old legend of a schooner subsequently underwent an extensive problem plagued 4 year refit in Lunenberg, NS starting in 2011, and was just refloated several days ago.

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova scotia
Submitted By: John Cornick
