Because it was a stormy Valentines Day and I was stuck indoors so to speak, I decided to go through some old Downhome magazines and look at some recipes. A baking day it was. I was sure one recipe would strike my fancy because they all look so good and sure enough, in Octobers issue, 2018, the Old Fashioned Blueberry Cake caught my eye...it was out with the measuring cups, flour and other ingredients. After my usual mess, the cake was in the oven. After a couple hours, success. It was perfect. It tasted as good as it smelled. I would encourage anyone to try the recipes in your magazine. I have on many occasions and have not been sorry. I was wondering though if you try them before you publish them?
