Stuffed Peppers

8 medium green peppers
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3/4 tsp salt
2 cups shredded cheese
1 lb ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 (12oz) can corn
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce, seasoned
1 cup buttered bread crumbs

Cut off tops of peppers, seed and clean; Parboil until tender, drain, sprinkle inside with salt. Brown meat and onion. Add rice, corn and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add cheese and cook until melted. Stuff peppers. Stand upright in a casserole dish; top with the bread crumbs. Fill dish with about 1 inch water. Bake at 350°F degrees for 40 minutes.
