The Eagle Soars
We try to understand God’s ways
the pain, the deep despair.
Trying to laugh when we are sad
makes us wish the end was near.
For every life that’s taken away
another one begins.
For every good that’s ever done
another person sins.
And when the sky above us seems
gray and overcast,
A warm rain falls from Heaven
to sustain the starving grass.
And as the strength of the tree impales
its roots down in the earth,
You have been given the same gift,
the roots of your own birth.
For every prayer there is a need
one gives and one takes.
For every dream that is fulfilled,
another’s dreams forsakes.
There are trees in God’s heaven
nurtured by our joys and tears.
Someone is smiling on you
a loved one has rested there.
So when the treasure of life is found
you won’t have done it alone.
Friends caring and believing
have helped unearth each stone.
And as the darkness fades away
a new day will begin.
God is happy in His heaven,
you proved that you could win.
So don’t give up the battle
take charge! Your life is yours
be sure to give it your best shot
overhead, the eagle soars.
