Downhome Letters to Santa I

We may not be the North Pole, but we here at Downhome like to think we have a link to the big guy in the red suit. Earlier this fall, our team called on kids and kids-at-heart to submit their letters to Santa, and boy, did you deliver! Our mailbags were overflowing! Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more. Merry Christmas!

Dear Santa,
My name is Lewis Roul and I am 5 years old. My little sister is Grace and she is 3 years old. We also have a new baby sister, Anna, who will only be 3 months old at Christmastime. We live in L’anse aux Loup, Grand Bank, NL and we have both been very good this year. We wanted to write you a letter to say thank you for all the special gifts you gave us last year. We don’t have a list of things we want this year, as we would just like any surprises that you choose to give us. We love you, Santa, and we can’t wait for your visit. It is our favourite time of the year!
Love, Lewis & Grace

Hi Santa!
My name is Landon and I am only 1 year old. This is my very first letter to you and I am so excited for you to visit me this Christmas. I have been a very good boy all year learning and meeting many milestones! I would love it if you could please bring me some new sleepers and cute outfits. I also would love some new books and maybe a couple of new toys!
Please give Mrs. Claus, Rudolph and the other reindeer a big hug for me! And don’t forget all the boys and girls who don’t have very much, they need the most love and Christmas spirit. Sending lots of love, Landon

Dear Santa,
My name is Ellie. This is My first Christmas this year can you please send me a new baby bottle diapers and wipes, a new cute dress to wear on Christmas Day and a little gift for my aunt Diane & uncle Nick. I will leave Rudolph and the reindeers a carrot and celery, and Oreo cookies with a glass of milk for you Santa. Find it near the Christmas tree.
Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year ahead.
Ellie Noble

Dear Santa,
My name is Callie, and this is my first Christmas! I am so excited and can’t wait to celebrate with my family. I have an older brother named Carter and he loves Legos, if you could bring him some. I would like to have a new dolly, and a new dress. Please don’t forget the children at the Janeway. My mommy will leave out some milk and cookies for you, and some carrots for the reindeer.
Callie Everson

Hi Santa,
How are you and Mrs. Claus? My nanny is writing this because I’m only 19 months old. I’ve been a really good girl and learning lots of new stuff and I’m bigger this year so should enjoy my Christmas better. Can I please ask for a new Barbie and foam building blocks.
I will leave milk and cookies for you and some reindeer feed for your reindeers. Fly safe Santa.
Avery Tucker

Dear Santa,
My name is Carter and I am 5 years old. I hope you and Mrs. Claus are doing good. I started kindergarten this year and I am really enjoying making lots of new friends. Thank you for all the gifts you brought for me last year. I have a new baby sister and this will be her first Christmas, please bring her a new dolly. I would like to have some new Legos, a Kinder Surprise, and some new army men. Please don’t forget to bring gifts to the children at the Janeway. I will leave you some milk and cookies, and some carrots for the reindeer on Christmas Eve.
Carter Everson

Dearest Santa Paws,
I hope this letter finds you healthy and jolly. This year for Christmas I will be at doggy daycare because my mom works at sea so we won’t be together. My only wish is for you to spread some extra holiday spirit to anyone who will be in the same situation, and can’t be with their loved ones. If you’d like to maybe leave some beef pizzles in my stocking, I won’t be upset though! Merry Christmas!
Your furever bestie,
PennyLane xox

Dear Santa,
It’s Trudy writing you. I have never written you a letter in my life (55 years old), but I always secretly believed in you. This year is different, my heart is aching for my husband. You see Santa, we were living in Newfoundland up until 2014, and our life was amazing there, and then my mom got sick with breast cancer and I uprooted our lives to move to New Brunswick to be with her (she survived and I have also seen my dad through his prostate cancer). Well, it is now 2025, and every day I have regretted this decision.  It ended up tearing my husband away from his family. I have been physically sick (too many times to count) for years over my decision. We have been blessed with 6 grandchildren, 3 of which live in Newfoundland (my husband’s) and 3 that live in Ontario(mine). We have limited money as I was taking off work for the rest of my life in 2017 and was put on Canada pension disability (only bring in 1094.00per month), and only leaves my husband with the main source of income. I have had the pleasure of seeing my grand kids twice and they are 12 and 6, but my husband has only met one of his grandchildren when we had to go home for his son’s funeral in 2019. I honestly don’t know why I am sending this letter to you, but maybe just maybe miracles can happen at Christmas and my husband could meet all his grand kids. Well, I guess the whole point to my Christmas letter to you is to, after all these years, make a Christmas Wish: that my husband might get to meet his grandbabies this Christmas.
Thank you, Santa, for your time and have a great Christmas Eve.
Don’t eat too many cookies, and give the reindeer lots of love for me.
Trudy Rogers

Dear Santa,
My name is Sadie, I am 3 years old!
This year for Christmas I would like a ballerina Barbie and kinetic sand. My mommy says that I have been a very good girl all year. Please don’t forget about all the other little boys and girls around the world.
Love, Sadie

Dear Santa,
It’s Ryder I’m going to be 2 years old this Christmas and I’ve been a good boy!
This year I would like to have some building blocks, some learning toys and a warm fuzzy blanket. Santa, can you bring my big brother and my big sister something nice too – they are teenagers so something cool. I hope you have a great flying night on Christmas Eve. My Mommy and Daddy said they will leave extra stuffed cookies for you and some candy canes for your reindeer.
Bye for now Santa, I can’t wait for December 1st for my special elf to return. We have three special elves in our house now. I can’t wait for the fun to begin! Love you Santa, Ryder

Dear Santa,
These are my beautiful grandbabies Riley, Veronica and Ryder. They are so helpful, kind and loving. This year the two older ones would like a new phone or tablet. The baby, he is right into dinos and building, so you decide!
I’m gonna go make some homemade goodies this year and some carrot muffins for the reindeer. If I had to get one thing, I really wish for would be for everyone in the world to find peace and love.
Love always, Nana

Dear Santa,
Thank you for all the gifts you brought us last year, we really enjoyed them. We have been good kids this year. Willow is soon turning 8 and Wilder turned 3 years old.
This year Willow would love a “My Mini Baby”, 3D pen filament and a reborn doll.
Wilder would love an ice cream store toy, monster dirt arena and maybe a surprise. Please don’t forget all the children in the hospital. If you could, please say hello to Mrs. Claus, the elves and all the reindeer for us. We are looking so forward to the Christmas season and the arrival of our elves. We will leave out extra treats for you and the reindeer.
Take care & have a safe flight,
Willow & Wilder Cook

Dear Santa, how was your year at the North Pole? This year in Newfoundland we had lots of hot weather. Hopefully for Christmas there’ll be lots of snow for your sled and the reindeer!
For Christmas this year if you can, could you please bring me bunk beds, a few Legos  and a robot to make.  But most of all I really want my Auntie Joanne to come visit from the U.S for Christmas! She was born here and Newfoundland is her heart and home. That would be the best present!
Love, Elizabeth
