On a fishing trip in the Northwest Gander area we met with a couple of people from Ontario who were travelling to a friend's cabin. We were chewing the fat about anything to do with fishing and hunting and how it differed from Ontario. As an aside one of gentlemen mentioned that while in Gander he met a person at a restaurant who was a real doppelganger of a friend of his who lived in Toronto. One our our buddies asked him what the word doppelganger meant. He replied that it was a German word for someone who looked very similar to another person. Our buddy said we don't use that word down here. We just say "he's the face and eyes of that other fella". We shared a great laugh.
