Ageing Dreams
At this stage of life I feel no strife
I'm always on an even keel
From morning till night it's all the same
And that's how I love to feel
Days come and go with visions aglow
But things are not always what they seem
Only figments of a fertile mind
Lovely ladies are now just a dream
But bring on those dreams I can take lots more
They seem to calm an aching breast
And day after day it seems I am
Being put to the highest test
For although I age I can still warm to
The female form in all its glory
It still ignites these weary old bones
As if in a recurring love story
An imaginative poem about the musings of an older gentleman as he contemplates what may lie in store.
