Brook Mint
Brook Mint

How often now my mind casts back
To summer days of yore
When I would visit those I loved
On Petty Harbours rocky shore

Of feather beds so warm and cozy
Of pee pots under beds serene
Of rocking horse with main so wild
To this impressioned child, a dream

At dawn I woke with open window
Never wanting it to close
The fragrant hint of Brook Mint wafting
Over a childs impressioned nose

That mint will always spell for me
Those days spent lounging by the sea
In place I love, dear Petty Harbour
Will always mean the world to me

I went by there the other day
To see if that mint was still there
And there it was, as large as life
In that lovely stream in mind so clear

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia Submitted By: John Cornick
