The Old Fisherman
His wrinkled face weathered with time
His hands are callous and red
His body a little bent now
Taking a last look… with dread
He has always been a fisherman
He has known no other life
The sea had given him a living
Supporting his children and wife
The young have all gone now
Searching for a better way
Uneducated and old
His only choice is to stay
His boat his prized possession
He takes her out to sea
Reminiscing of the old days
And of times that used to be
No longer can he fish the waters
His age has taken its toll
Now it’s old fisherman stories
That have yet to be told.
