Cornick Family Pocket Watch
Cornick Family Pocket Watch

This old Waltham pocket watch originally belonged to my Great Great Grandfather, Frederick Cornick, of St John's and originally from Bridport, Dorset, England. I inherited it from my father, Cyril Cornick, just before he died in May 1993. It has an interesting history. In the late 1800s it was accidentally lost down a catch pit outside a store operated by my Great Grandfather Frederick Charles Cornick on Freshwater Road in St. John's. It was still running and none the worse for wear when retrieved some time later, and is still running today.

John Cornick
Halifax, Nova Scotia Submitted By: John Cornick
