Difficulty: easy Prep Time: Fifteen Minutes Total Time: More than 1 hour

1 pkg raisins

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1 1/2 cups water

1 1/4 cups butter

1 1/4 tsp cinnamon

1 1/4 tsp cloves

1 1/4 tsp allspice

2 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

2 eggs, well beaten

1/2 lb cherries

1/2 lb dates

1/4 lb nuts (optional)

Combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil for approximately 30 minutes. Let cool completely. Mix remaining ingredients and add to boiled mixture. Bake in pre-heated 300°F oven for approximately 2 hours.
