Yellow Penny
A photo of our yellow Labrador Retriever, Penny. Penny came to live with us in January of 1994 as a 6-week-old puppy from Cambellton, and was trained as a hunting dog for her master, Al. They hunted numerous species of birds and enjoyed their days along shore. When the gold mine where Al worked closed in 1997, we made the hard decision to leave Newfoundland, not unlike many other families, and since we were moving to an apartment in the city, we left Penny behind in the care of my parents. My parents have since "adopted" Penny, and she has become quite the neighbourhood dog. She has many homes that feed her around the community, and greets people coming off the ferry here in Grand Bruit. Now when I come home to visit my parents and stay in the house we left behind, Penny remembers me, and follows me around the harbour. I took the attached photo of her while visiting my parents this summer. Jude Billard Formerly of Grand Bruit, NL Submitted By: NULL
