Woody Point - 74 miles from Corner Brook. Taken from end of car ferry. They have two ferries that each carry six cars - or two cars and two trucks. It takes about 10 minutes to cross from Woody Point to Norris Point. Going over to Norris Point, it was quite calm, but coming back, "we rocked and we rolled" and had to head into the eight foot waves - and then turned and flew in to Woody Point with a tail wind. A photo we came across that depicts an adventure my grandparents - P.G. & Nellie Tipping - went on with Alex & Lillian Myrden (all from Corner Brook) in Nov. 1964. After deciphering the scribble "Pop" Tipping wrote on the back of the photo, I find the ferry quite interesting. The ferry is at Woody Point and Norris Point. Picture taken by P.G.
