Winter Fun
Here is a poem our grandaughter Deanna Chislett wrote this winter. Deanna is 10 years old and lives in Ottawa.
Winter Fun
By Deanna Chislett
Hurry get on your mittens fast
Don’t forget your hat and boots
I know that we will have a blast
Friends with all different colour suits
Pull your sleigh, come on let’s climb
It feels like we can fly
I know we’ll have an awesome time
Gliding from the sky
The canal is open, tie your skates
The ice is safe and thick
Watch me do a figure 8
Fast, get your hockey stick
Grab your poles and ski lift pass
Watch out for the bumps
Make sure you go super fast
Over the ski jumps
The winter day is almost done
We all are very tired
I know we had a lot of fun
Now hot chocolate by the fire
