Wild Places <br /> <br /> I have a fatal facination<br /> For all places in the wild<br /> And when I view them for the first time<br /> It is like I was again a child<br /> <br /> It is the secluded feeling I get<br /> Which overwhelms me from the start<br /> These feelings I wish would last forever<br /> And never from me depart<br /> <br /> This facination seems inbreed <br /> And when I question it for a while<br /> I think it stems from my dear roots<br /> On that my favoured homeland isle<br /> <br /> For where I ask can you better observe<br /> Than on our majestic windswept isle <br /> Natures beauty in all its power<br /> Which can so all of us beguile <br /> <br /> Be it sandy beaches or tundra vast<br /> Be it coastal rock strewn shore <br /> Or flake dotted tidal coastal scene <br /> Or the Torngat mountains in deep Labrador<br /> <br /> Or Western Brook Pond that hems you in<br /> Or the Tablelands barren moonscape hues<br /> Or LAnse aux Meadows wind swept shores<br /> Or Gros Morne mountains majestic views<br /> <br /> This is just to name a few<br /> Of the wonders of our isle<br /> And on our face they will no doubt<br /> Bring a permanent Newfie smile<br /> <br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
