Who Knew Best?
A poem written in response to your article, "Engage Your Inner Poet" by Ron Young, Feb 2007.
Who Knew Best?
Chucky is my new-found pet
Who doesn't like his feet to get wet;
But when he feels he'd like to pee
Any chair makes a goodly tree.
Of course, this raises up my dander,
But he looks up with perfect candour
Seems to say "You know I must
So why, on earth, is all the fuss?"
Thus I decided on a ruse
The situation to diffuse.
We'd go together on the road
In order to relieve the load.
And so twice daily off we go
In windy weather, ice or snow.
He says to me, if we could talk,
"All I wanted was a real, good walk!"
