My name is Robert James Tucker. I have submitted several pieces of poetry to your poetry section and I thought that your readers might like to know a little about the poet. I was born in Wareham, Bonavista Bay on April 4th, 1948, and yes, I am a true blue old school Newfoundlander. I lived for the first 13 years of life in Gander and then packed up and moved to Terra Nova National Park, where my dad (Josiah Tucker) was stationed as a Warden. I graduated from Glovertown Regional High and went to teachers college on Lemarchant Road in St. John's, then taught school. Due to circumstance beyond my control, like many Newfoundlanders before and after me I was forced to go elsewhere to make a decent living. So I ventured to Toronto and through several years of hard work, tenacity and perseverance I received my Masters in Computer Information Systems Management. Today I am retired and live quietly with my wife. We have three children, Tracy-Lynn, Robert J., and Matthew, all successful in their chosen careers.

Like most people I have felt the pains and curses that life brings but I was able to balance things with all the love and joy that a good marriage, loving children and friends bring.
