My mom, Sharon Dove, is the first and only person (so far) to capture an image of the elusive panther roaming the woods of central Newfoundland. It has been seen in the area by others since this past summer, but only Sharon got a picture! When out in her garden recently, Mom spotted what she thought was a cat about 25 feet away. She brought it over some flaked meat, and just as she got up close to the fence, the "cat" snarled at her and bared its fangs! Mom, in shock and panic, managed to get safely inside and called the police. The cat ran off and hasn't been seen since.
