When the Night Belongs to Stella
When the Night Belongs to Stella
When the night belongs to Stella
And the streets are cold and deep
Not a soul out there to see her
Everyone is fast asleep
But for her it is obsession
Why driven thus unclear to eyes
But the mind it has it’s reasons
Not for us to rationalize
Could it be a long time craving
For a life unknown to most
Full of lust and dark foreboding
Something deep inside to boast
A hidden past that rises nightly
Uncontrolled and unrepressed
To drive her on to things so foreign
And with feelings unsuppressed
And then in clandestine meeting
With a soul so full of care
She gives her very being
Uncontrolled and laid full bare
Not as a loyal lover
But a passing fling with lust
Then to ponder on the beauty
Of the night and in it trust
A poem about a "woman of the night"
