Virtual Friends <br /> <br /> Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend<br /> Time together in some enchanting place<br /> And meet in person with all your virtual friends<br /> Where it wasn&acirc;€™t make believe but actual space<br /> <br /> To meet in person your conversational friends<br /> And to make eye contact and press the flesh<br /> To watch expressions as you talk really tends<br /> To allow mutual feeling to really enmesh<br /> <br /> To possibly give a heartfelt hug<br /> And not a platitude written in space<br /> Would really at their heartstrings tug<br /> When not sent through airways their computer to grace<br /> <br /> And what&acirc;€™s wrong pray tell with a friendly joust<br /> With friends at hand you love the most<br /> And engage in friendly disagreements galore<br /> Which face to face are easy to resolve for sure<br /> <br /> Don't allow for actual feelings to be hurt<br /> And leave a feeling of settling a score<br /> When you engage in virtual banter and blurt<br /> Be sure not to leave unrequited feelings for sure <br /> <br /> They say virtual people are so engaged<br /> To escape the pressures of the real world<br /> That may be true leaving some enraged<br /> But I&acirc;€™m sure there are many other reasons hurled<br /> <br /> But the fact remains that nothing can replace<br /> The coming together in finite space<br /> So I would just love to have that one chance<br /> To have that reunion and with them take my stance<br /> <br /> John Cornick<br /> Halifax, Nova Scotia<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />   Submitted By: John Cornick
