I just have to let your readers in on this unbelievable story. I was 15 years old at the time, and I was walking along my favourite river bank in Baie Verte, NL. I had my .22 with me, but only one shell. I saw two rabbits on the opposite side of the river and couldn't decide which one to shoot. So I waited until they were each on the side of a sharp rock, then fired at the rock. It split the bullet in two. One half killed one rabbit and the other half killed the other rabbit. Then I had to wade across the river to get them. I was wearing a pair of hip waders, and about mid-river, I stepped into a deep hole and filled my waders, but I kept on going. Before I reached the other side, the strain of so much water in the waders was all on my braces, hooked to one button holding them up. The button broke free, flew up in the air and killed a partridge flying overhead. When I emptied my waders, there were exactly 1 dozen trout in each wader.
