The summer of 1985 was an exciting time for our family. Two sisters got married, on separate occasions, back home in Codroy Valley, NL.  Rita O’Quinn married Wayne Samms from Codroy on July 12; Joan O’Quinn and Pius Barnes from Isle aux Morts tied the knot on August 16. The two couples, along with many family members who lived away, mainly in Ontario, returned to Newfoundland twice that summer.
