Keeping It Local!

A friend of mine in High School was Editor of our School Newspaper

The Trepassey Tribune named by my friend Aiden Sutton.

I told Kathy Tucker I would like to write a piece on Music.

Sure says Kathy.I look forward to You dropping it off to me.

Who was I trying to impress and what do I write?

Truth be told I left it to the last minute and Kathy was

pressuring me to produce my Masterpiece

I believe I had about four lines that I see in a Magazine Article

about the AllMan Brothers new Album.

That is what I went with.Not realizing when You scribble thoughts on

Paper.It looks like a lot less words in Print and such a small Space.

Where did my Great Gatsby Cover go anyway? I ask myself in a curious

Trepassey Broque.

When the paper came out for all Trepassey Folk to read.I was cornered one day by my friend Ray who is a fine local musician and Bass Player.His gear was a Fender Precision Guitar and a Big Kustom Amp like the Ones Credence used.

If you want to know the truth, ask Ray.

“Gentle Christ! he said I was excited to see your article.

Now why on Earth would you write about some big Southern Rock Group

from the States? I thought You would write about Local Talent right here in your Town.”

Point taken.Most folks in Trepassey knew the Boys In The Band.You think Mr.Fitzgerald would know who Greg Allman is? I think not.

All fine and dandy to try and impress with nice words.

Am I getting my point across and touching that One Soul

that might need something or someone to Relate to.

Theory in Class never made sense to me until I saw it put to use in Practise.

Wanted to test myself to see if I could put this little blurb to drum beats.

Then my mind got busy and I forgot my Boomer Stamp drum Kit in my Head.
